The verified GRC partner directory

How TrustPartners ranks listings

TrustPartners.directory publishes its ranking rules so buyers know what they are seeing and providers know what they can improve. Organic order reflects evidence and profile quality—not who pays. Rankings are based on verification depth, recency, and profile completeness — never payment.

No pay-for-rank · 100% independent verification · Free to list

Free. No account required for buyers. Providers earn stronger positioning with stronger evidence, not a larger budget.

Why publish this

Why publish ranking rules at all?

Most marketplaces keep ranking logic vague because opacity creates room to sell placement. TrustPartners.directory takes the opposite approach. Fairness is part of the product, so the ranking logic has to be public.

For buyers, that means lower uncertainty. For providers, that means clearer expectations: improve evidence, keep it current, complete the profile, and your organic standing can improve without negotiating for a better slot.

Directory

Default order on browse pages

When you view category pages, framework pages, or search results, published listings are sorted in this order:

  1. 1. Verification tier (highest first)

Higher tiers reflect more evidence reviewed by TrustPartners. Tier 3 is the strongest trust signal, so it appears first, followed by Tier 2, Tier 1, and Tier 0.

  2. 2. Recency of verification

Among listings at the same tier, more recently verified profiles appear first so buyers see the freshest reviewed evidence near the top.

  3. 3. Profile completeness

When tier and recency tie, we favor more complete public profiles. A clearer description, location data, framework coverage, trust center details, and other useful fields make the directory more decision-ready for buyers.

Featured placement is not a ranking boost

TrustPartners is free to list, and providers can pay to stand out. That can mean featured placement, badges, or other visibility benefits that are labeled clearly.

What it cannot mean is buying a better position in the organic directory order. Even when a provider pays for visibility, the default list still follows the published rules above.

Best-of and editorial pages

Curated pages (for example under /best) may use editorial criteria and fixed ordering chosen by TrustPartners. Those pages are labeled as curated rankings and should be understood separately from the default sort used on category, framework, and search views.

What never affects default directory order

  • Payment status or subscription plan
  • Whether a provider is on Free, Pro, or Elite billing
  • Pay-per-click, sponsorship, or bid amount

We document this publicly so buyers and providers share the same expectations. If you believe a listing is miscategorized, misleading, or inaccurately verified, use the reporting path described on How We Verify.

FAQ

Common questions

Structured data helps search and AI systems cite TrustPartners.directory accurately.

Is my ranking affected by my subscription?
No. Rankings in the main directory are based on verification tier, recency of verification, and profile completeness — never payment. Featured placement is a separate visibility benefit and is not used to reorder the default grid.
Why is another firm above me at the same tier?
Within the same tier, we sort by recency of verification first, then by how complete the public profile is. Small differences in evidence dates or profile fields can change relative order.
Do you accept payment to move someone to the top?
No. We do not sell top positions in organic directory results. That is a core product rule, not a marketing line.
How do I improve my position?
Raise your verification tier with evidence that meets our standards, keep verification current, and complete your public profile. Start from Get Verified on TrustPartners.directory.
